How Xcelo Works
Complete project overview — consumer app, Studio, categories, stats, and limits
1. What Xcelo is
Xcelo is a signed-in video platform. End users browse and watch videos in the consumer app (website / mobile web or wrapped app). Organisations or admins use Xcelo Studio (this tool) to upload videos, choose Education and/or Shop (e-commerce) tags, and view analytics. Watching happens in the app; publishing and tagging happen in Studio.
2. Sign-in and profile
Users create an account and sign in to see feeds, profile, Results, Topics, and settings. Profile may include name and photo. Some pages (Privacy, Terms, this page, Contact) may be public depending on deployment.
3. Main navigation (consumer app)
- Home — Entertainment only: videos with no Education and no Shop tag.
- Education — Videos tagged with an education category in Studio.
- Shop — Videos tagged with a shop / e-commerce category.
- Results — Leaderboard by completed demo promotional clips (full play, per rules).
- Topics — Rankings and totals for completed full video watches per topic (education slug, shop slug, or Entertainment/Home).
- Profile — Account and settings.
4. Studio: uploads and tags
On upload you can set:
- Education category — optional; video appears in Education hub and education topic buckets.
- E-commerce (Shop) category — optional; video appears in Shop hub and shop topic buckets.
- If both empty → Entertainment on Home only.
- If both set → video can count in both topic types when completed.
Studio analytics show aggregated user records for operations — separate from simplified in-app Results/Topics stats.
5. Watching and completion
Playback discourages skip-abuse. Topics generally count when the user finishes the video. Results counts when each demo ad runs to the end. Watch-session signals may be sent for server-side verification — not a promise of money or gifts.
6. Results — demo ad leaderboard
Completing demo segments increments a counter. Results ranks users by that count. This is a scoreboard for engagement, not a prize, payout, or redeemable balance.
7. Topics — category ranks and total history
Users pick a bucket; completed videos update matching buckets. Dual-tagged videos can update two buckets. Total history sums buckets (can exceed distinct video count).
8. What Xcelo does not offer (consumer)
- No in-app gifts or physical prizes tied to scores.
- No cash, wallet, or withdrawal for watching or ranking.
- No redeemable points balance from Xcelo for leaderboard position.
Gift/withdrawal admin tools have been removed from this Studio UI; consumer APIs are disabled or blocked accordingly.
